Meet and get to know your horse. Learn how to lead and groom your horse; enjoy a ride in an arena & experience actually controlling your horse. When you finish riding, unsaddle & groom.
This is a unique opportunity for visitors to the area to experience supervised riding with full personal instruction.
Offering:
Ponies & larger horses to cater for most people.
Lead, groom, ride & feed your own horse.
Riding instruction in an enclosed arena ensuring each person has basic control of their horse.
Safety and fun a must for all that want to enjoy the experience of having a horse.
Horsemanship Workshops run for approximately 1generous hour.
What you will need to bring:
Smooth soled, covered shoes preferably with a small heel
Close fitting pants that allow you to move and stretch
Sunscreen
Insect Repellent
Hat for protection from sun.
For your safety and enjoyment:
Don’t wear jewellery
Don’t bring your mobile phone
Don’t smoke around the horses
Don’t bring alcohol or consume before attending venue.
Do wear comfortable close fitting clothing
Do wear covered-in shoes or boots
Do follow instructions from your coach and other Brackenbush staff
Do let us know of specific dietary requirements on booking.
Brackenbush will provide you with helmets for handling and riding the horses.

Brackenbush will supply helmets for riders using school horses.
Bookings essential for all horse activities.
All prices are GST inclusive.
Allow 24 hours notice of Cancellation; a fee of $10.00 will apply for less than 24 hours notice of cancellation.
Lessons include riding, grooming, learning ground skills, saddling and general horse care.
Children under 12 years old and not in class must be supervised at all times.
Lead pony rides are available for children too young for lessons; pony is lead by guardian / parent in arena while older children are having lessons.
Disabled parking on service side of arena – ask staff for directions on booking.
On Arrival – before starting any horse activities, all disclaimers & waivers must be signed, as well as all monies paid.
Damage – caused by horses, owner, family, friends, helpers etc. must be paid for by the owner or responsible person. Full replacement cost plus labour. Private insurance for this is recommended.
Cheque payment fee – if paying by cheque add $2.00 for cheques of $25.00 & under to cover administration fees.
